e-pass technologies limited currently is engaged in discussions with a major midwestern state university which will lead to the development of a relationship genuinely benefiting both the university and e-pass. Under this relationship, the university will become the beta test/development center for employment of e-pass technology in the United States and Canada.
The university institutional setting is ideal for validating a broad range of applications and benefits. The latter include operational and economic benefits for the university, and functional convenience as well as economic and educational benefits for the student.
Among the applications foreseen in the university setting - most of which are transferable to other societal settings - include: valid personal identification; facility and event access; academic year and athletic schedule storage; secure storage and access for personal academic, health and financial records; purchase of food, goods and services; validation for eligibility for benefits and discounts; and access to PC's, Internet, copiers, etc.
As a collateral function to its performance as a validating test/operational site for the e-pass technology, it is envisioned that the university will engage in related R&D activities under contract with e-pass Technologies.
University students and faculty also will be rewarded for the identification of new applications and features of e-pass. It is anticipated that the fertile cauldron of this educational academy will produce exciting benefits for students, faculty, institution and e-pass.
