University
of Kentucky partners with e-pass
We are pleased that one of our finer collegiate institutions, the
University
of Kentucky, Lexington, Kentucky, has agreed to work with EPT as the Beta
test/development center for e-pass technologies in the United States and
Canada.
EPT chose the University of Kentucky as its preferred Beta partner because of
UK's active and progressive commitment to the advancement of developments in
the field of Information Technology. With its dedication to educational
quality, intellectual excellence, humanistic creativity and technological
advancement, the University of Kentucky is an ideal Beta partner in the
dynamic Internet-related information technology arena.
This partnership will serve to strengthen UK's status as a leader in
Information Technology development. Through its work with EPT on the e-pass
system, UK will advance the utilization of Information Technology throughout
the Postsecondary education community in America.
The first phase of the Beta project at UK is expected to launch in the third
quarter of 2000, with a goal to initiate discussions that result in the
deployment of a comprehensive system throughout the University by September,
2001.
